Evolve is challenging you…
The Evolve Community is hosting a Picture Meme (wikipedia definition) as part of the webcast session series.
The purpose of this initiative is to get everyone actively involved in the Evolve.
Each month Evolve will be focusing on a different theme concerning the Learning Technologies Area. During that period you will be invited to take part in our live mini-conference sessions, in which you can engage in dialogs with our keynote speakers and presenters, and also submit and present at one of the events yourself (details to all futures webcasts will be posted in the main area of this site).
A place for pre and post discussion about the topic of the month is also available through our site (please check our forum).
To spice things up a little bit more, we have decided to launch a Picture Meme contest, which consists in sharing your personal and professional perception, and experiences, concerning the Evolve’s monthly topic.
How does it work?
It is very simple. All you have to do is to provide a picture concerning the monthly topic.
For instance, the first theme Evolve will explore is Social software in Schools and Institutions. Provide us with a picture that represents your vision and /or your experience concerning this topic.
Join the Evolve’s Flickr Group and add your picture to our Picture Pool (see how here) and don’t forget to tag it with our special tag: pic1_evolvejisc. [for Month 2 you will tag your picture with pic2_evolvejisc, and so on].
Additionally compose a small text in your Evolve’s blog providing details about your picture. Alternatively, provide the link to the place where you have blogged, podcasted, etc about it. We do encourage creative ways of representing your ideas!!!
What is in it for me?
At the end of the Evolve Monthly Sessions what you get is not only a series of Picture Meme’s featuring several components of your engagement with the Learning Technologies; you will actually have developed your 21st Century Personal Learning Quilt, while capturing its essence through pictures!
Finally, the Picture based Personal Learning Quilts will be subjected to our Jury’s critical eye and the winner will get a fine bottle of Welsh Whiskey, or book tokens. The winner will also star in one of the Sounds of the Bazaar sessions!
